HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST

Job Summary: Be a resource to and advocate for employees; act as a business partner to leaders in handling Human Resources-related responsibilities; and carry out duties in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy administration, and employment law compliance—all while fostering a culture that supports the mission of JSK Hospitality.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform active recruitment, selection, and hiring for all positions. Represent JSK Hospitality at job fairs, create job advertisements, screen applications/resumes, coordinate applicant testing, conduct interviews, complete background checks, extend job offers, and manage onboarding.
  • Serve as a resource for employees to help them understand company culture and expectations. Provide guidance on benefits, company policies, and employment law, while advocating for positive employee relations and individual growth.
  • Partner with leadership to proactively manage teams. Offer advice on policy application and employment law, and when necessary, facilitate corrective actions with appropriate documentation and support. Refer complex issues to human resources management as appropriate.
  • Promote safety by modeling best practices, conducting accident investigations, maintaining safety records, and supporting resolution of safety concerns.
  • Participate in HR projects that promote continuous improvement and organizational success.
  • Develop HR strategies and solutions by gathering and analyzing information and recommending actions.
  • Stay up to date on HR practices and employment laws through ongoing education, professional development, and networking.
  • Support various other functions and duties as assigned. (This list is not exhaustive and may evolve as needed.)
  • Aid with the process of payroll

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a professional-level Human Resources role; PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with FMLA, COBRA, USERRA, HIPAA, and basic employment law.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business tools.
  • High level of motivation and a strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily operates in a fast-paced office environment within the hospitality industry.
  • Frequent time spent on-site to connect with staff and support operational teams.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment such as computers, smartphones, and printers.
  • Occasional travel to various properties and meetings, mostly local.
  • Flexibility to work outside of typical business hours as needed.
  • Will conduct property tours and meet with team members across all locations.
